Microplastics are found all over the world, from the top of Mount Everest to the depths of the ocean. They have been found in the air, soil, drinking water, and within organisms. They come from commercial items like fibers in textiles, as well as larger plastic items that break down over time into smaller pieces.

This limited-edition RISO print addresses the issue of microplastics through items found during a beach clean-up. After finding odd trash and compiling it, the group and I were inspired to create this piece to raise awareness. We created a narrative from these items, ultimately leading to information about microplastics. Part group-collaborative poem, part educational study, the zine seeks to stir emotion about prioritizing our environment through whatever actions, big or small, each of us can do daily.
